Can You Play Online With Friends?
Round up your Sanrio-loving friends: Hello Kitty Party Land online supports 2–4 players per session. Online play is limited to users registered as Friends, so add your group before setting up a room. You’ll need a Nintendo Account, a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership, and an internet connection to join the party.
The game launched October 29, 2026, on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Alongside online multiplayer, it supports 1–4 players on the same console.
The activities center on cooperation: tackle board-game objectives, work together through more than 45 mini games, and explore Party Land with Sanrio partners. Before entering, you can customize your avatar, choose a partner, and select a mini-game difficulty from Easy to Super Hard.
How to Create or Join an Online Room
Choose Online from the main menu to get started. One player creates the room, while everyone else searches for it.

Create a Room as the Host
- Select Create Room.
- Choose the room settings.
- Set a four-digit password if you want a password-protected room.
- Share that password with your friends.
- Wait for everyone to join, then start the game.
Join a Friend’s Room
- Select Search for Room.
- Choose your friend’s room from the list.
- Enter the password if the room requires one.
- Wait for the host to start the session.
Choose your host deliberately. The room creator controls menu selections, entering and leaving buildings, starting activities, using the camera, opening the Sticker Book, and pausing. Have the player who will guide the group create the room.
Finish a session before disconnecting, and leave enough time for your chosen activity.
Work Together on Three Cooperative Boards
Head to the center receptionist at Game Park to start Board Game mode. Each board asks your group to collect and deliver a different resource before the remaining days run out.

The delivery requirements below apply to Medium difficulty. Quotas and time limits change with difficulty.
| Board | Objective | Medium Delivery Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Blooming Flower Festival | Collect flowers for Marroncream’s festival | Each player gathers 150 flowers; one Delivery Space |
| Tropical Twilight | Gather droplets to help Tiran and friends grow fruit | Four Delivery Spaces requiring 150 droplets each |
| Sparkling Neon Night | Collect sparks for Goropikadon’s performance | Three Delivery Spaces requiring 200 sparks each |
On your turn, stop the roulette wheel and move the number of spaces you roll. A day ends after everyone has taken a turn. Landing on a Minigame Space brings the group into a mini game, where your performance earns the board’s resource.
Collecting is only part of the job: deliver your resources at the designated spaces by selecting Give or Charge. On Blooming Flower Festival, Marroncream also comes to collect flowers herself on certain days.
Open the map during your turn to plan around delivery points and branching paths. Check your items, too—some can help another player during their turn.
Playing Blooming Flower Festival also makes Badtz-Maru available as a partner. If the board’s time runs out before you finish, you still receive coins based on your results.
Play Mini Games Without Losing Your Next Turn
The Minigame Corner, at Game Park’s rightmost counter, lets you freely choose mini games. These are cooperative challenges: read the rules, pick your partner, and work together to clear them.
Look for present icons while browsing. Games marked with a present offer opportunities to meet additional characters, while a blue present icon points toward a special sticker available through clearing every difficulty level.
Petit Games work differently. They are solo activities displayed on the Game Pad, allowing other players to continue while one person plays.
On a board, working at a Shop Space starts a Petit Game. Challenge Spaces also offer Petit Games, with opportunities to keep challenging for more resources and penalties for failure.
Finish before your next turn arrives. An unfinished Petit Game causes you to skip that turn, so watch the board’s progress while you play.
Explore Sky Farm, Creative Labo, and the Photo Studio
Party Land has activities beyond Game Park, and more facilities become usable as you progress.
Sky Farm
Ride a cloud up to Sky Farm for growing fruits and vegetables, fishing, and Petit Games. There’s also a cave deeper within the area, where special clothing can be found.
Your Game Pad inventory includes a Watering Can, Shovel, Fishing Rod, Fruit Basket, and Bug Net. Each tool has an ability gauge you can check there.
Creative Labo
At Melody Cake, decorations become musical sounds. Decorations on top control percussion, while those on the sides control the melody. Adjust the tempo and switch between 4/4 and 3/4 time as you build a tune.
You can save creations across four catalogs, each holding up to 16 cakes. Play a catalog’s cakes in order to combine them into a longer musical sequence.
At Poster Studio, layer stamps to create pictures together. Move, resize, rotate, and recolor individual layers rather than rebuilding the whole image.
Four Sketchbooks each hold up to 16 pictures. Play their pages sequentially to create an animation, and pair it with music made through Melody Cake.
The Labo Puzzle offers another activity, with coins, stickers, or tools available as rewards.
Photography and Hometown Activities
The Photo Studio lets you use previously played mini games as backdrops. Play more mini games to expand your backdrop choices.
You can also take pictures around Party Land using tripod, selfie-stick, and drone cameras. Photos save to your system storage.
When characters ask for help finding someone, use the drone camera for hide-and-seek. Completing these requests earns Waterwheel Tickets, which you can spend at the Waterwheel beside Creative Labo for prizes such as coins and special hairstyles.
Customize Your Avatar and Fill Your Sticker Book
You can meet over 145 Sanrio characters and choose from 16 playable partners, playing as your avatar or your selected teammate.
Your starting avatar options include eyes, hair, eyebrows, and skin tone. Later, visit the Make-Up Salon on the Shopping Mall’s third floor to change your appearance for free. Change your Sanrio partner at the Partner Room in the Photo Studio.
Spend earned coins on clothing and accessories at the Shopping Mall. Try clothes on before purchasing, then use the Game Pad’s Clothing menu to change outfits. Save up to eight favorite clothing sets for quick changes.
Talk to characters and play mini games to collect stickers. Playing and chatting with partners also raises friendship levels, with special clothing among the available friendship rewards.
If you have the Character T-Shirt early purchase bonus, you can apply collected stickers to it through the Sticker Book. Redeem its download code through Nintendo eShop before using it.
Choose Your Switch Version and Install the Launch Update
The Nintendo Switch digital version costs $49.99. A separate Nintendo Switch 2 version is available, and these purchase and save restrictions matter:
- There is no Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack for the Nintendo Switch version.
- Save data cannot be shared between the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions.
Choose your version before purchasing through the Hello Kitty Party Land Nintendo store page.
The free launch update adds jinbei-style costumes for My Melody, Hangyodon, and Chococat. Connect your system to the internet with the physical game card inserted or the digital game installed, then update the software to the latest version. The costumes install automatically with the update.
Leave sufficient free space in system memory or on a microSD card for the download.
