Is Hello Kitty Party Land Available on Nintendo Switch 2?
Hello Kitty Party Land Nintendo Switch 2 is available now, with 45+ minigames, cooperative board games, and Sanrio characters to meet. It launched on October 29, 2026, and the U.S. digital version costs $49.99. Before buying, choose your version carefully: the Switch and Switch 2 releases are separate purchases, with no upgrade pack or shared save data between them.
The Switch 2 version takes up 3 GB and supports TV, tabletop, and handheld modes. Physical and digital versions are available, and you can buy the Nintendo Switch 2 digital version through Nintendo.
The compatibility rules matter if you already own the original console:
- The Switch 2 version requires Nintendo Switch 2. It cannot run on Nintendo Switch.
- A separate Nintendo Switch version is available. There is no Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack.
- Save data cannot be shared between versions. Choose the version you intend to keep playing before starting your collection.
How Local and Online Multiplayer Work
You can play solo or bring up to four players together on the same console. Online sessions support two to four players and require a Nintendo Account, a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership, and an internet connection.

Online play is restricted to registered friends. To organize a session:
- Select Online from the main menu.
- Have one player choose Create Room.
- Have the other players choose Search for Room and select the host’s room.
- If the host uses a password, share the four-digit number with everyone joining.
- Start the game once everyone has arrived.
The host handles shared actions, including menu selections, entering and leaving buildings, starting activities, using the camera, and pausing. Offline, controller 1 is the host; online, the room creator takes that role.
Choose the host before settling in, especially if one person will guide the group through the menus. For local sessions, additional players can join with their own user profiles or as guests.
What You Can Play: Minigames and Cooperative Boards
The game includes 45+ minigames, with difficulty settings ranging from Easy to Super Hard. You can head to the Minigame Corner at the Game Park to play minigames directly, or start a board game at the center reception counter.

The three boards have different collection objectives:
| Board | What you collect | Shared objective |
|---|---|---|
| Blooming Flower Festival | Flowers | Help Marroncream prepare the festival |
| Tropical Twilight | Droplets | Help Tiran and friends grow fruit |
| Sparkling Neon Night | Sparks | Power Goropikadon’s live performance |
On your turn, spin the roulette and move the resulting number of spaces. Landing on a Minigame Space brings everyone into a minigame, where your performance earns resources for the board’s objective. Deliver those resources at the designated spaces before the remaining days run out.
You can also play solo Petit Games during certain board activities while the other players continue their turns. Watch your timing: if your Petit Game is still running when your next turn arrives, that turn gets skipped.
Check your items between turns, too. Some can help another player during their turn, giving you a way to contribute before your next move. Completing the delivery objective ends the board, while running out of days still awards coins based on your results.
Sanrio Partners, Stickers, and Avatar Customization
Party Land features over 145 Sanrio characters to meet and collect stickers of, plus 16 playable Sanrio characters. You can play as your customized avatar or your chosen teammate.
At the beginning, you choose features such as eyes, hair, eyebrows, and skin tone. Later, the Make-Up Salon on the Shopping Mall’s third floor lets you change your appearance for free. To switch partners, visit the Partner Room in the Photo Studio.
Your collection grows through conversations and activities:
- Talk and play with characters to raise friendship levels.
- Build friendships for the chance to receive special clothing.
- Chat and complete minigames to collect stickers.
- Spend earned coins on clothing and accessories at the Shopping Mall.
- Save outfit combinations in up to eight favorite sets.
Try clothing on before spending your coins. Once you have a combination you like, register it as a favorite so you can put it back on quickly.
Playing Blooming Flower Festival also makes Badtz-Maru available as a partner. In the Minigame Corner, look for present icons when choosing activities; those games can introduce you to another character.
The Character T-Shirt is an early purchase bonus that lets you apply collected stickers to the shirt. If you have its download code, redeem it through Nintendo eShop before customizing it from the Sticker Book.
Activities Beyond the Board Game
Hometown gives your group somewhere to explore between games, with more facilities becoming usable as you progress.
At the Creative Labo, Melody Cake turns cake decorations into musical sounds. Decorations on top control percussion, while those on the sides control melody. You can save creations in four catalogs, each holding up to 16 cakes, and play cakes in sequence to build a longer tune.
The Poster Studio lets you arrange stamps in layers to create pictures. Its four Sketchbooks each hold up to 16 pictures, and you can play a Sketchbook’s pages sequentially as an animation.
For photos, choose from tripod, selfie-stick, and drone cameras. Pictures save to your system storage, and the Photo Studio offers backdrops based on minigames you have played.
You can also spend Waterwheel Tickets at the Waterwheel beside the Creative Labo for prizes, including coins and special hairstyles. Tickets arrive after time passes, and helping characters with hide-and-seek requests provides another way to earn them.
Launch Costumes and Supported Languages
The October 29 launch update adds jinbei-style costumes for My Melody, Hangyodon, and Chococat.
To receive them, connect your console to the internet and update the installed digital game or insert the physical game card and update the software. The costumes install automatically with the latest version. Leave enough free storage for the update download.
The Switch 2 release supports American English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. Japanese is not available as a language option.
