Hello Kitty Party Land Physical Copy: Buying Guide

Can You Buy a Physical Copy?

The Hello Kitty Party Land physical copy is available at game retailers and online stores following the game's October 29, 2026 release. Before buying, check whether you're choosing the Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 version. That choice matters because the two versions do not share save data, and there is no Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack.

You can purchase a boxed edition through retailers or buy the digital version through Nintendo eShop. When shopping online, check the product's platform and format before checking out so you get the edition you intended.

The Nintendo Switch 2 digital edition costs $49.99 and has a listed game file size of 3 GB. Those figures apply to that digital edition; use the retailer's product page for the boxed copy's price.

Choose the Right Nintendo Switch Version

Hello Kitty Party Land has separate Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions. The Nintendo Switch 2 version runs exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 and cannot be played on the original Nintendo Switch.

Keep these differences in mind before purchasing:

• Original Nintendo Switch owners: Choose the Nintendo Switch version.
• Nintendo Switch 2 owners choosing the Switch 2 release: Select the product explicitly labeled Nintendo Switch 2.
• Players considering both versions: Save data cannot be shared between them.
• Players planning a later upgrade: There is no Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack.

Choose your version before starting your playthrough, especially if you expect to switch between consoles and want to continue the same progress.

Download the Free Launch Costumes

The October 29 launch update adds jinbei-style costumes for My Melody, Hangyodon, and Chococat. Physical and digital players can receive these outfits by updating the game.

For a game-card copy:

1. Insert the game card into your Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2.
2. Connect the console to the internet.
3. Update the game software to the latest version.

The costumes install automatically with the update. Keep sufficient free space available in system memory or on a microSD card for the update data.

Update before gathering everyone for your first session so the launch outfits are ready when you play.

Redeem the Early Purchase Character T-Shirt

The Character T-Shirt is an early purchase bonus redeemed with a download code through Nintendo eShop. Check the retailer's offer for that bonus when choosing your copy.

Once you have the Character T-Shirt, you can decorate it with collected stickers:

1. Open the Sticker Book.
2. Move the cursor over the sticker you want.
3. Press the Left Button when using the horizontal Joy-Con control layout to apply it.

Talk to characters and play minigames to collect stickers. With more than 145 Sanrio characters to meet and collect stickers from, the shirt gives those collectibles another use beyond filling your Sticker Book.

Set Up Local or Online Play

Hello Kitty Party Land supports up to four players on one console. Select the player count from the main menu; additional players can choose a user profile or join as guests.

Online sessions support two to four players and require a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership. Online play is limited to registered friends. One player creates a room, and the others select Search for Room to join. The host can also protect the room with a four-digit password.

Inside Party Land, you can choose from 16 playable Sanrio partners and take on more than 45 minigames. Board Game Mode adds cooperative objectives, while Petit Games give individual players something to do between turns.

Choose the host deliberately: that player handles menu selections, entering and exiting buildings, starting activities, and pausing the game.
